Family Staycation at Island Cove

The Holy Week is not only for rest and meditation, but also a time to spend with the family. That is exactly what mine did with an overnight stay at the nearby Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park in Kawit, Cavite.

Island Cove Amenities

What I admired about Island Cove is that they have so many available amenities. It can be a place for all occasions such as graduation, concerts, company outings, barkada bonding, kiddie playtime, solo jogging and leisurely family time. There are different places to eat, too — at Anabelle’s, their buffet restaurant (where we also ate Media Noche and watched fireworks last 2013), at the Fishing Village, or even at the Bayside KTV.

However, what is sad is that some of their services are not maintained properly especially the Adventure Zone where there was supposedly areas for Paint Ball, Airsoft, Challenge Courses and more. I guess you better not go alone but reserve for a group trip. For the day, we rented out bikes for an hour before retreating to our room.

Because it was a holiday, the room price is more expensive. We chose to eat outside for dinner and come back to rest. It’s comfortable enough, although not what you might expect from other more luxurious hotels. But this is what I don’t understand in hotels — we rent a place for four people and they give us only 2 passes for breakfast. We had to pay P500 for every extra person.

That morning, I headed out to swim at the Oceania Water Park. They also have tennis and basketball courts, fit clubs and spas. Several years ago, we have visited their Petting Zoo, Aviary and Crocodile Cabin. Although I’m not so sure if I liked watching caged animals or chicken being swallowed alive.

I loved their pools because it has big slides and different levels. Kids can enjoy the place too since there is a pool dedicated to them. In the middle is a 6 feet pool for the grownups.

My usual trips often involve sweaty outdoor pursuits, but I do appreciate some slow time to rest and relax with the family. Since I moved out, I don’t get to spend as much time with them (they also do not like going out too much).

More family travels soon I hope!

This reminds me that we need to plan another summer getaway before the school year starts. I think I’ll consider going here in Island Cove. Mind if I ask the estimated expenses?

I definitely agree that it is eco-friendly, and healthy to use bicycle, and I’d really do that when I go there.

Good to see that Island Cove is still alive and well and continually developing up to now. My kids were still infants the last time we were there. I think we should visit again one day.
